JAMMU, Jan 10: Akhnoor Police today claimed to have solved a theft case by arresting a thief and recovering stolen items on his disclosure.
Acting on a complaint by a person namely Vikas Gupta son of Kuldeep Gupta, resident of Ward Number 5 (Akhnoor), regarding theft of electronic items worth Rs 2,52,000 from his shop in the area under the jurisdiction of PS Akhnoor, a case FIR Number 03/2023 U/S 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
During investigation, a team of Police Station Akhnoor constituted by SDPO Aknoor Mohan Lal, rounded up a suspect namely Sushil Sharma son of Mulla Ram, resident of Mandrian (tehsil Maira Mandrian). During sustain questioning, the suspect admitted his involvement in the theft case and on his disclosure, all the stolen electronic items worth Rs 2,52,000 were recovered from him.
Further investigation of the case was going on.
