DGP sanctions scholarship

JAMMU, Jan 11: Director General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned a scholarship of Rs 6.93 lakhs in favour of 124 wards of martyred and serving police personnel.
As per a press statement, the DGP has sanctioned meritorious scholarship of Rs. 5.66 lakh in favour of 113 wards of serving police personnel and Rs. 1.27 lakh in favour of 11 wards of those police personnel who attained martyrdom in the line of duty.
It said that meritorious scholarship of Rs 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 57 wards of serving police personnel who secured 90% or above marks in the annual examination of the 10th class in the academic session 2021-22 and a scholarship of Rs 4000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 56 wards who have secured 80% or above marks in the annual examination of class 10th during the academic session 2021-22.
The DGP has also sanctioned Rs 15000 each in favour of two wards of martyred police personnel who are pursuing MBBS, Rs 12500 each in favour of wards of martyred police personnel who are pursuing education in secondary classes and bachelor degrees, and Rs 7500 each in favour of three wards of martyred police personnel who are studying in lower classes.
“The scholarships have been paid out of Central Police Welfare Fund and Central Police Education Fund,” read the statement.
