Copper futures up 0.13 pc on spot demand

NEW DELHI, Oct 29: Copper prices rose marginally by 0.13 per cent to Rs 447.20 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions even as metal weakened overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November traded higher by 60 paise, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 447.20 per kg in business turnover of 627 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in far-month February next year contracts edged up by 55 paise, or 0.12 per cent, to Rs 457.20 per kg in 20 lots.
Market analysts said increased demand from domestic consuming industries influenced copper prices in futures trade here but metal’s losses at the London Metal Exchange (LME) limited gains.
Globally, copper for delivery in three months declined as much as 0.50 per cent to USD 7,152 a tonne at the LME. (PTI)
