SAMBA, Jan 11: A woman was killed while a person was seriously injured in a road accident here, today. According to the information received, an unknown vehicle hit a motorcycle at Jammu-Pathankot National Highway near Main Chowk, Samba injuring both motorcyclist and pillion rider. With the help of local people and police, the injured were brought to District Hospital Samba where the woman who was the pillion rider died during treatment and the injured person has been referred to GMC Jammu for better treatment.
The dead body has been kept in the mortuary for postmortem. The deceased has been identified as 35 year old Rajni Devi, wife Sandeep Kumar resident of Kehli Mandi Samba and the injured person has been identified as Ranjit Kumar son of Rasalo Ram resident of Katli, Samba. In this context, after registering a case, the police started searching for the vehicle and started further investigation.
