BARAMULLA, Jan 12: To finalise the action plan for saturation of Aadhar cards and mandatory biometric updates in all age groups, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish today chaired a District Level Aadhar Monitoring Committee at her office chamber, here.
On the occasion, Dr Sehrish held threadbare deliberation about mechanism to be adopted for Aadhar saturation in all age groups and mandatory biometric update of children in the district.
During the meeting, Project Manager, UIDAI J&K UT Shoib Khan informed that Aadhar Enrollment process stands at 90%, covering ten lakh population besides briefed about the status of Aadhar Seva Kendras operating in the district.
It was given out that District Administration Baramulla has intensified Aadhar enrolling and updation process for which 125 centers are functional across the district. It was also deliberated that Tehsil Offices, Blocks, Educational institutions, delivery locations at hospitals are identified for Aadhar Enrollment saturation.
The DC was also briefed on the initiatives being undertaken to cover the age groups of 0-5 years, 5-18 years and above 18 years in the district.
Terming the Aadhar enrolment a multi-agency process, the DC called upon all concerned departments to saturate the remaining Aadhar Enrollment Process in the district besides launching mass awareness campaigns in their jurisdictions to cover all population under Aadhar enrolment.
Dr Sehrish said that Aadhar has a tremendous potential and scope in curbing cyber frauds. She urged the uncovered populace to get Aadhar enrolled as it is mandatory to avail benefits of various Government schemes.
