KPs pinning high hopes in HM’s visit: PNBMT

JAMMU, Jan 12: Pinning high hopes in present dispensation at UT of J&K and Centre, Pt Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) today said the community is looking forward to the visit of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah to look into both long and short term issues being faced by displaced Pandits from Valley who will enter into 34th year of their exile now.
In a statement issued here the chairman of the Trust, Roshan Lal Pandita said that Union Home Minister, Amit Shah who is visiting Jammu tomorrow will try to find out a solution to the long pending issues of the displaced people including the passage of Shrines and Temples Bill which is hanging in balance for over a decade now.
It said the other issues of the community including safety of minorities in Kashmir Valley in view of the targeted killings, settling of PM package employees issues including their relocation to Jammu till situation becomes conducive in Valley, speeding up of work on transit accommodations for package employees in Kashmir and safety and security of these employees are some important issues which need immediate attention of the Government, he added.
The Trust also demanded enhancement of cash relief to migrants and compensation to over-aged youth of the community besides, removal of encroachments from migrants’ property as well as shrines and temples land in Valley without any delay.
The meeting demanded that the Government should frame a comprehensive policy on the displaced Pandits in consultation with community leadership who see their future totally bleak as successive Governments could not take concrete steps for their rehabilitation in accordance to their geo-political aspirations.
