SRINAGAR, Oct 29: University of Kashmir organized Photography, Art, Poetry and Calligraphy exhibition with the theme “Muharram”, here today.
The exhibition inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof Talat Ahmad was organised by a group of students in collaboration with Department of Students Welfare under the supervision of Dean Students Welfare, KU, Prof Neelofer Khan and Asstt Dean Showkat Shafi.
The exhibition included the works of the students of different institutions and the guest artists of Kashmir under the theme Muharram. The exhibition was a humble tribute to Imam Hussian and the martyrs of Karbala.
Almost 26 participants through their 90 works of art gave in-depth dimensions on the theme of Muharram.
In addition to the young and budding student artists, calligraphers and photographers the exhibition included the works of famous artists of Kashmir, Masood Hussain, Mir Mubashir, Naseem Gulzar, Sameer Hussian and Syed Ilyaas Rizvi.
The exhibition had a wide range of response from the students and the faculty members of the University.
Dr Nasir Iqbal, Chief Proctor, Cultural Officer, KU, Shahid Khan were also present.
