Multi-crore JDA land retrieved from encroachers

JAMMU, Oct 29: Jammu Development Authority land worth crores of rupees was today retrieved from the encroachers in Channi Rama area of Jammu and village Rajpur Koullaran of district Samba.
The encroachment on the JDA land at Channi Rama was noticed by Jammu East Police few days back and the same was brought to the notice of Vice-Chairman of JDA, who with the assistance of police and Jammu Municipal Corporation launched operation.
Two JCBs were put into action to demolish the CGI sheets and cemented iron poles from the land in the presence of Vice-Chairman JDA, Kuldeep Khajuria, Director Land Management, Jatinder Singh, Secretary JDA Yugal Kishore, Joint Commissioner Municipality Kapil Sharma, Chief Khilafwarzi Officer JDA Ashok Sharma and Chief Khilafwarzi Officer JMC, Satish Khajuria.
SDPO East, S S Sambyal and Incharge Police Post Narwal, SI Manoj remained present at the spot during the operation to ensure that nobody creates problem in retrieving the land.
A case FIR No.223 under Section 447-A RPC has been registered in this regard against Faizullah, son of Sikander Sheikh, Rashid Choudhary, both the residents of Malik Market, Vikramjeet Singh of Pathankote and others. There three persons were also arrested but later they were bailed out by the Court.
Though the land valuing crores of rupees was retrieved yet it has also brought to fore a question as to how the encroachers managed to install cemented iron poles and CGI sheets at such a prime land without being noticed by the field staff of JDA.
At village Rajpur Koullaran in Samba district, 60 kanal of JDA land was retrieved from the encroachers during a joint operation carried out in the presence of ADC Samba, Inderjeet Bhagat, ACR MY Malik, Tehsildar JDA, Mujaffar Malik, Khilafwarji Officer Narinder Singh.
