Lt Gen Philip reviews security situation along Jammu border

Western Army Commander Lt Gen Philip Campose being received by senior officers of Army and Air Force at Jammu on Tuesday.

JAMMU, Oct 29: General Officer Commanding-in-Chief  Western Army Command  Lt General Philip Campose reviewed general security situation along the border belt of Jammu sector today.
The visiting Western Army Commander was received by the GOC of  Himachal (Dharamshalla) based Rising Star Corps, Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi and the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) of Air Force Station Jammu, Air Commodore  P E Patange besides GOC of Tiger Division and other senior officers at the Technical airport here.
The GOC-in-C, Western Command during his visit interacted with the commanders and senior officers  of Rising Star Corps at Jammu Garrison.  General Officer Commanding (GOC) of  Satwari based Tiger Division,  Maj Gen Ashwani Kumar  briefed the Western Army Commander  about the present security scenario in the Jammu region and preparedness of the troops to check any activity of the terrorists sneaking into this side of the International Border with Pakistan in Samba and Jammu sector.
The field commanders also briefed Lt Gen Philip about their defence preparedness in their respective area of responsibility. The GOC Tiger Division assured the Western Army Commander that the focus of the Division has been to continuously enhance the operational efficiency without compromising on improvement of standards of living of troops and their families.
The Army Commander was also briefed by the AOC of Air Force Station Jammu Air Commodore Patange. Lt Gen Philip was satisfied with the defence preparedness at the Jammu Station  and also advised the AOC to look into every aspect related to security threat in the cantonment zone. In the afternoon, the Army Commander left for Chandimandir Western Army Command headquarters in Chandigarh.
