Man booked for raping, cheating young girl

JAMMU, Jan 15: Domana Police has booked a young man for raping and cheating a young girl by exhorting her hard earned money to the tune of Rs 10 lakh.
According to Police sources, a case under FIR Number 22/2023 u/s 376/420 IPC was registered today against the accused identified as Bharat Bhushan son of Jodh Singh, resident of Dhandal of Doda district (at present living at SIDCO Chowk, Bari Brahmana, Samba) at Police Station Domana following submission of a written complaint by the victim, who is a resident of (Muthi, Jammu).
In her complaint, the victim who runs a beauty parlour, said that she met the accused in February 2017 and on the proposal of marriage, she engaged with him on his desire of marriage. The accused assured her that he will solemnize marriage with her but on one pretext or the other the accused delayed the same for almost six years,” she said in her complaint.
The victim in her complaint alleged that the accused developed physical relation with her in the meantime and on 5-12-2022, she came to know that the accused entered into engagement with another girl. The victim also alleged that the accused cheated her by extorted her hard earned money of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 11 lakh on various occasions for his extraneous consideration.
Sources said after registration of the case in this connection, Domana Police has initiated further investigation.
