JAMMU, Jan 15: Namrta Sharma, President, Women Wing of the Aam Aadmi Party, Jammu and Kashmir, has slammed the Government over the uninterrupted power outages in the Jammu District.
In a statement, the AAP leader questioned as to how the government will make Jammu a smart city when people of the district have been struggling in the harsh winters sans power supply.
“This is the biggest failure of the incumbent dispensation that people had to remain contended without power supply even on the festivals like Lohri and Makar Sankranti,” said Namrta Sharma.
She said that government must provide subsidy on power tariff during the four months of winter especially due to the fact that unscheduled power cuts have become the order of the day.
Mocking government over its claims of endeavouring to make Jammu a smart city, the AAP leader said: “The government should first provide uninterrupted power supply to Jammu and then only make claims of transforming it into smart city.”
