Govt relaxes rules to meet faculty requirement in GMCs

JAMMU, Jan 16: Government of Jammu and Kashmir has relaxed recruitment rules for gazetted level teaching posts in Government Medical Colleges of the Union Territory to meet the faculty requirement.
According to an order issued today, Government Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges in J&K can now fill up gazetted level teaching/faculty posts from candidates outside the state, provided such posts have been advertised at least once and remain unfilled.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by clause(ii) of section 3 of J&K Civil Services Decentralization and Recruitment Act, 2010 (Act Number XVI of 2010), the LG of J&K hereby excludes from the operation of the Act such categories by the Health & Medical Education Department from time to time for the purpose of appointment on academic arrangement basis under the provisions of J&K Medical and Dental Education (Appointment on Academic Arrangement Basis) Rules, 2020 in all the GMCs of J&K subject to the condition that such posts have been advertised at least once and remained unfilled,” read the Order.
This exemption shall be valid till 31-03-2023, the Order further mentioned.
