Notorious narcotic smugglers held by Samba police

Heroin worth Rs 1.10 lakh, Rs 24000 cash recovered

SAMBA, Jan 17: Police under the guidance of SSP Samba, Benam Tosh today arrested two notorious smugglers -cum- suppliers of heroin — Billa and Kaka and recovered heroin worth rupees 1,10,000.00 approximately and Rs 24,420.00 cash from their possession.
SSP Samba said that as a part of tightened national highway grid, special naka was laid near Zamindara Dhaba Raya More Vijaypur by a team of officers and officials of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur under the supervision of SHO, Inspector, Tribhawan Khajuria, SDPO Vijaypur, Priyanka Kumari and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary. During intensive checking at the naka, two notorious smugglers-cum-suppliers of heroin (‘chitta’) identified as Mushtaq Ali alias Kaka, son of Shah Din of Sarore, Bari- Brahmana and Mohammad Arif alias Billa son of Mashoor Ali of Ramkot, district Kathua were arrested and heroin and cash was recovered from their possession.
A case FIR No. 09/2023 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and further investigation started.
SSP Samba, Benam Tosh has termed the arrest “a big catch” in war against narco-terrorism. He further said that Billa and Kaka used to smuggle Pakistan- prepared heroin from Punjab and used to supply the same to the youth of Marheen, Hiranagar, Kathua, Samba, Sarore, Bishnah, R.S.Pura and many other areas of Jammu province.
A handout said Samba police on the directions of SSP Benam Tosh has launched vigorous operation against suppliers and smugglers of narcotic substances and total three notorious inter-State suppliers of narcotics have been arrested just within a period of two days.
