Jammu, Oct 30: Jammu Municipal Corporation today sealed “M/s Jai Vaishno Paitha Fruit Products & Sweets, “M/s Jai Vaishno Shakti Paitha House and “M/s New Jai Maa Shakti Paitha Food Products at Maheshi Gate, Kanji House, Jammu, for selling unwholesome sweet especially Rasgulla, Gulab Jamun etc.
Further continuing its drive, the team led by Kiran Wattal, Municipal Commissioner, Kapil Sharma, Jt. Commissioner, Chief Enforcement Officer, Food Safety Officers and other staff raided sweets manufacturing units at Mohinder Nagar, Talab Tillo and Jawahar Nagar. The 116 tins of Petha seized from the units were found to be stored in rusted containers. Two units were also sealed for not maintaining minimum Food Standard and Quality Parameters.
The team also checked quality of sweets being prepared at “Pradhan Sweet Shop” at New Plot and seized 12 tins of material. Patisa manufacturing unit of Bhola Singh at New Plot was also sealed and material prepared in 175 boxes was confiscated to save the citizens of Jammu city from consuming unhygienic sweets.
The JMC has warned the shopkeepers dealing with food items to ensure supply of good quality of food to the general public especially sweets and different type of milk products. JMC also appeals them to obtain license from the Municipal Corporation Jammu for running their commercial establishments, and also to keep their premises neat and clean.
