DGP sanctions Rs 78 lakh welfare loan, relief

JAMMU, Jan 18: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned a welfare loan of Rs 75 lakh in favour of the serving police personnel. He has also sanctioned a financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh in favour of the family members of three martyred police personnel.
The welfare loan sanctioned in favour of the serving police personnel out of the Central Police Welfare Fund is refundable and is recovered in the monthly instalments from their salaries without any interest.
“While an amount of Rs 75 lakh was sanctioned in favour of 63 serving police personnel a financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh was sanctioned in favour of the NoKs of the martyred police personnel,” a press statement said.
It said that the sanctioned welfare loan ranges from Rs 50000 to Rs 1.5 lakh, which is paid either to the serving police personnel or their wards for the purpose of their/ wards’ marriage or education.
“The financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each was sanctioned in favour of the NoKs of martyr SgCt Ghulam Mohammad, martyr Ct Abdul Majeed and martyr Ct Nazir Ahmed for the purpose of the marriage of their daughters,” it said.
