REASI, Oct 30: Continuing its drive against smuggling of liquor and drugs, the District Police arrested a bootlegger and a drug peddler in different cases.
A police party from Police Station Katra arrested one person namely Ravi Kumar of Sundrani and seized 755 gms poppy straw from his possession. A case FIR number 225/2013 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at P/S Katra.
A party of PP Kakryal while on patrolling in village Chack Bhagta arrested one person namely Satpal of Karua, presently putting up at Serly Katra. 40 poly pouches of J&K Excise liquor were recovered from his possession. A case under Section 48-(a) Excise Act has been registered in this regard at Police Station Katra.
