Dogra ‘Mel-Malaap’ program organized in Delhi-NCR

JAMMU, Jan 18: A Dogra ‘Mel-Malaap’ programme was organized in Delhi-NCR in which hundreds of Dogra speaking people from Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida participated.
The programme held at MP Club, South Avenue in New Delhi and was presided over by Raman Kesar, a senior Journalist, who speaking on the occasion, said that the motive of the function is to well knit the otherwise scattered Dogra Community in Delhi-NCR. He said that the Organization will convert 22nd December, the Constitutional Recognition Day of Dogri Language into a festival like Diwali and Baisakhi.
“Dogri speaking persons in Delhi-NCR and elsewhere in the Country can get their deserving place only through a totally non-political socio-cultural movement,” said Sudesh Dogra, a prominent social activist while introducing the hundreds of Dogras in the Dogra ‘Mel -Malaap’ Programme. Sudesh said that purpose of this event is to spearhead a Dogra Movement in Delhi-NCR keeping political parties, leaders of all the hues and VIPs away.
Each and every participant of Dogra ‘Mel-Malaap’ expressed himself through singing and dancing, but prominent singer Dheeraj Sharma and dancer Neha Sharma, Pallavi Sharma, Manya Dogra, Bhumakshi Sharma and Nidhi Sharma stole the show.
The event started with a Vandana by Madhu Sharma but Kailashpati Sharma mesmerized everyone with his Phummni, a Dogri folk dance.
Jagdish Sharma, Satpal Sharma and young Dogra entrepreneur Kulbir Singh and Sujeet Singh Guleria were main organizers behind the event.
