Samba police works out 2 theft cases

SAMBA Jan 18: Continuing intensive drive against thieves on the directions of SSP Samba, Benam Tosh, police have worked out two theft cases registered at Police Station (PS) Samba, arrested accused persons and recovered stolen items.
Police said on January 1, two written complaints regarding theft in the area were lodged at PS Samba. The first complaint received was regarding theft of some grocery items and cash from a Karyana shop located near Bus Stand Samba whereas second complaint received was regarding theft of a laptop along with charger, laptop bag and some cash from furniture shop situated near Bhargwa Degree College, Samba.
In this regard case FIR No. 287/2022 U/S 457/380 IPC and case FIR No. 288/2022 U/S 457/380 IPC were registered at PS Samba and investigation was started to work out the theft cases.
During the course of investigation, a police team of PS Samba comprising of SHO Inspector, Deepak Jasrotia and PSI, Sohail Munir under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Samba, Mohammad, Usman and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary arrested one thief identified as Mohit Singh, son of Goverdhan Singh of Kehli Mandi, Samba.
During sustained interrogation the above arrested accused confessed his involvement in both the above mentioned theft cases and on his disclosure a Dell laptop along with charger, laptop bag, some grocery items and some coins were recovered. Further investigation is going on.
