UDHAMPUR, Jan 19: A group of 62 boys and girls from Udhampur district left for a 7-day-tour of metro cities like New Delhi and Kolkata surroundings under the Bharat Darshan Tour organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police under the Civic Action Programme.
As per a statement, Inspector Isha Mahjan, SHO Police Station Women, Udhampur accompanied the touring students.
It said that the tour was flagged off from Udhampur by Suleman Choudhary, DIG Udhampur-Reasi (U-R) range in presence of SSP Udhampur Vinod Kumar and other police officers.
Interacting with the touring students, the DIG U-R range, Suleman Choudhary advised them to take best out of the tour by visiting places of historical and contemporary importance and interest.
The police officer told the students that such occasions will provide them a new experience and vast exposure.
“The tour is an effort of J&K Police to increase the confidence and exposure of our talented children so that they are able to compete with rest of the country and stay away from anti-social elements,” the DIG said in a statement.
