JAMMU, Jan 19: LIC employees, under the banner of Northern Zone Insurance Employees’ Association, observed 67th Nationalised Day of LIC, here today.
On this occasion, LIC employees, led by Divisional Secretary, Comrade Pawan Gupta and joint secretary Com Rajesh Gupta, organised a rally with flags, banners and placards indicating achievements of LIC.
The rally comprised a large number of members of the Association, including Raj Kumar, Dharminder Kumar, Nanak Chand, Kishore Lal, Priya Sharma and others. LIC employees on this occasion resolved to fight tooth and nail to protect LIC and against any move of its privatisation.
Speaking on the occasion, Com Pawan Gupta congratulated all the members on this occasion of Nationalisation Day of LIC and reminded that after a prolonged struggle of All India Insurance Employees’ Association, the Government of India had nationalised the life insurance business in India by an Ordinance issued on 19th January 1956.
“With our sweat and blood, we have brought LIC at this position, we love our industry, we respect our policyholders and any move to privatise it will not be tolerated,” he thundered.
Similar prrogramme in Srinagar was led by President Com Fayaz Ahmad Gul, Jt Sec Syed Aadil Imam, Vice President Amarjeet Singh, Treasurer Ajaz Ahmad Dar, Com Javed Ahmad Bukhari and Gulshan Singh.
