AJKLTF demands comprehensive transfer policy for teachers

Addressing the teachers of Kishtwar district, here today, Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shikshak Mahasangh, National Auditor and State President Devraj Thakur, said that the department has no policy regarding the issues pertaining to the teacher community in Jammu and Kashmir .
“Since last eight years, the SED has failed to conduct DPC in Jammu division in teacher cadre which caused the shortage of teaching staff in many institutions and effects the studies of students,” he said and added that no definite policy with regard to the transfer of Government school teachers was leading to unnecessary confusion every year.
Thakur also highlighted other issues and demands of Grade II/III Teachers, who are facing stagnation and other hardships for the last two decades, including implementation of transfer policy and promotions of 5000 ReT teachers.
He also appealed to the Director School Education Jammu to regularise the left out ReTs and convert the regularised RReTs to teachers Grade II/III so that they may get their salaries.
“Teachers are often asked to spend large portions of their time on non teaching activities, such as MDM preparation, electioneering, or various Administrative tasks. This prevents teachers from concentrating on their actual jobs” he added.
He further said that since 2014 no DPC are held in Jammu division in teachers cadre which caused the shortage of Masters in many institutions and effect the studies of students.
