KATHUA, Oct 31: On the eve of its conclusion, BJP’s “Refugee Adhikaar Yatra” today passed through Chadwal, Dayalachak, Rajbagh, Barnoti, Palli Morh, Channi, Nagri and reached Kathua in the evening for night halt and the same will take off for R.S. Pura, where a massive rally is scheduled to be organized on November 1.
The yatra, is being led by BJP State President Jugal Kishore Sharma and  BJP leaders including National Executive Member Shamhser Singh Manhas, National Executive Member & State Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh, senior leader Th. Ranjit Singh, State general secretary & Yatra Incharge Rajiv Jasrotia, State secretary Mamta Singh, publicity secretary Aseem Gupta, BJYM State President Ravinder Raina, S. Charanjit Singh, Rashpal Verma and Vijay Sharma are accompanying the State president.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while addressing public gatherings, said that during the last seven days our yatra has travelled through border areas housing refugees’ population. They are living in unhygienic conditions as their areas lack basic amenities. While they are being discrimination in matters related to development and welfare, the most unfortunate part is that they have been deprived of citizenship rights, compensations for their properties have not been paid and moreover they are also on the target of Pakistan’s firing. They are the worst sufferer at the hands of Government, he alleged adding that BJP shall continue to extend every possible support to their cause.
Shamsher Singh Manhas said that be it NC or Congress, both these political parties have always betrayed the refugees and the border people. Although repeated promises are made but none of them is ever fulfilled.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the yatra has been appropriately named as Adhikaar Yatra because the right to live with dignity is the basic human right of every individual and here we have an example of a section of population which has been denied its basic right of citizenship and livelihood.
