RAMBAN, Jan 22: Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed on Sunday that they have arrested a drug peddler from this district with 4 kilograms of poppy straw like substance.
A police spokesperson said that a team of police post JT stopped a truck (PB65M-7152), which was on way towards Banihal from Kashmir, at Navyuga Tunnel.
During checking of the vehicle, he said, 4 kilograms of poppy straw like substance was recovered from one Avtar Singh son of Tanvir Singh of Haveli Kalan, Rupnagar, Punjab.
“The accused has been booked in case FIR 17/2023 under sections 8/15 NDPS Act and further investigations taken up,” said the police spokesperson.
