JAMMU, Oct 31: Various educational institutions celebrated Diwali with pomp and show.
On the occasion of Diwali, Department of Home Science of Government Degree College, Kathua organized an Entrepreneurship Exhibition in which a large number of exhibits prepared by the students under the guidance of Prof Subita Sharma were displayed. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Anita Nuna Centre for Gender Studies, NCERT New Delhi and Dr Nater Singh Raina, Principal of the College. A large number of students and faculty members visited the exhibition and purchased many of the exhibits which were kept for sale on this occasion.
Diwali was celebrated at Government Higher Secondary School, Sarwal. Various competitions were organized on the occasion by Anu Gupta and Shvaita, which included Diya making, Card making and Rangoli competition. Principal Bishan Singh Jaral threw light on the importance of the festival.
On the occasion of Diwali, the students of Banyan International School organized cleanliness and class decoration competition. Parents were invited to judge the competition. While speaking, Vice Principal Monika Sethi highlighted the importance of the day.
Festival of Diwali was celebrated in Luthra Public School Talab Tillo and Palace road. A Rangoli competition was held and winners were awarded with trophies by Rajeev Luthra, Chairman of the trust in presence of Sanjeev Luthra, Principal and faculty members.
Little Flower Higher Secondary, Greater Kailash organized plethora of events to celebrate Diwali. On the occasion, art and craft exhibition was displayed, in which children showcased their talent. They displayed glass paintings, bags, wall naggings and napkins. An Inter House Rangoli competition was also organized on “Varied Colours of Nature”. Later, faculty members and students burst crackers.
Diwali was celebrated at Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public Higher Secondary School, Kunjwani. Students were attired as Lord Ram and Goddess Sita. A grand Rrajay Abhishek of Lord Ram was performed by the students. A Rangoli competition was also organized. Principal Gurtaj Singh threw light on the importance of the day.
Diwali was celebrated in the premises of Tiny Tots School Residency Road. The students from all wings made candles, lamps and cards for Diwali, which will be distributed among the poor and the needy. Principal told the students to be careful while playing with crackers and fire products. She also told them to wish their elders and they all should go to the temple to seek blessings.
Diwali was celebrated at JK Montessorie Senior Secondary School Talab Tillo. Vice Principal of the school Geeta Dixit throwing light on the grandeur of this day. A skit based on the crowning of Lord Rama was staged by students of Primary wing and Higher wing followed by a Rangoli competition where in students prepared colourful designs. A beautiful Bhajan was sung by middle wing students and colourful dance performed by little toddlers. Later crackers were burnt. Managing Director of the institute Sanjeev Gupta, Director Academics Rajni Gupta Chairman of the Institute Prof Mohammad Ayub Sheikh and staff members were also present.
Jammu Sanskriti School celebrated Diwali festival by organizing various competitions like card making, diya and candle decorations and class decorations, during which the students showcased their creativity. Sunil Luthra Chairman Arnia Trading Association and district general secretary BJP was the chief guest, while Kamaljeet Kour Anand was the guest of honour. A colourful cultural programme was presented by the students, followed by fancy dress competition. From class 1st Ashpreet, Navjot and Kunal Manhas were awarded first, second and third prizes respectively, whereas Raghav, Sujal and Sanchit claimed first, second and third prizes respectively from class II. In best class decoration category class pre- nursery and the class IV begged the prizes. Luthra and Kamaljeet Kour Anand distributed the prizes to the winners. Sunil Luthra distributed blankets among the group ‘D’ employees of the school. Principal Rohini Aima threw light on the legend of Lord Rama. The Programme was co-ordinated by Prabhjot and Nidhi Kolhi.
Apple Kids International Pre-school, Bantalab held a colourful function on the eve of Diwali. A Rangoli making competition was held. Students and teachers of Playgroup and Pre-KG made the best Rangoli. In addition to it students were also involved in other celebrations like dance. Principal of the school Puja Sharma educated the students about the importance of Diwali.
On the occasion of Diwali fun fair, Indira Bhalla inaugurated first ever Kids Theater at Euro Care, Trikuta Nagar. Eight plays and stage performances will be introduced very soon in the theatre. Principal of the School while addressing staff members, students and their parents promised to keep on introducing new and innovative features in the school.
