Govt Depts, bodies & Forces celebrate R-Day

JAMMU, Jan 27: 74th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, patriotic and traditional fervor amid unfurling of National Flag by various Government departments, Forces and semi-Government bodies across Jammu and Kashmir.
The Financial Commissioner Revenue and Divisional Commissioner Jammu Office celebrated Republic Day at Office Premises wherein FC Revenue, Shaleen Kabra unfurled the National Flag followed by the National Anthem.
Among others, Additional Commissioner with FCR, Rishpal Singh; Additional Commissioner with Div Com, Pawan Sharma; Additional Commissioner with Div Com, Pankaj Katoch; Administrative Officer, Pawan Kotwal; Assistant Commissioners with Div Com, Principal Private Secretary, Accounts Officer and Officials of FCR and Divisional Commissioner Office were present on the occasion.
The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole unfurled the National Flag and took the salute from CRPF contingent at his office premises to celebrate Republic Day. Among others, present on the occasion, were Additional Commissioner Kashmir Qazi Sarwar, Additional Commissioner Kashmir Abid Hussain Kira, Police and Civil officers, staff of Div Com office.
State Taxes & Excise Departments celebrated the Republic Day with great patriotic zeal and fervor at State Taxes & Excise Complex in Jammu. The event commenced with the unfurling of Tricolor by Commissioner State Taxes, Dr Rashmi Singh who stressed that everyone should abide by the rules set forth in our Constitution and preserves the integrity of this Republican Nation.
Excise Commissioner, Pankaj Sharma; Additional Commissioner State Taxes (Tax Planning Policy and Advance Ruling), Ankita Kar; Additional Commissioner State Taxes (Administration and Enforcement), Jammu, Namrita Dogra; Deputy Commissioners State Taxes and officers and officials of State Taxes and Excise Department also attended the event.
Additional Resident Commissioner, New Delhi, Neeraj Kumar unfurled the National Flag at JK House, 5-Prithvi Raj Road, New Delhi. A contingent of J&K Armed Police presented Guard of Honour on the occasion. The ceremonial function was attended by all the officers and officials of Jammu and Kashmir Resident Commission, New Delhi. On the occasion, a colourful cultural programme was also presented.
On the occasion of Republic Day, J&K Bank MD & CEO Baldev Prakash unfurled the national tricolor in the Bank’s major function, held at Jammu Zonal Office in presence of General Managers Ashutosh Sareen, Narjay Gupta, Divisional Head (Jammu) Sunit Kumar, Zonal Head Jammu Rajesh Dubay, Dy General Managers amid large gathering of bank officials.
In Srinagar, the main function was held at Bank’s Corporate Headquarters wherein General Manager Peer Masood Ahmad unfurled the national flag in presence of General Managers Syed Rais Maqbool, Shareesh Sharma, Tabassum Nazir, Syed Shujaat Hussain Andrabi and Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat besides DGMs and other senior officers of the Bank.
The Republic Day functions were also organized at all the zonal offices of the Bank across the country wherein participants celebrated the day with patriotic fervor.
Republic Day was celebrated at Sheep Husbandry Complex, Jammu, wherein Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu, Krishan Lal unfurled the National Flag followed by the National Anthem. Director lauded the valuable contribution of Indian Nationals. All the Officers/ Officials of the Department were present on the occasion.
At the Directorate of Health Services Jammu, 74th Republic Day was celebrated under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with great patriotic fervour. Director Health Services Jammu, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman unfurled the Tricolour in presence of all officers and officials of the Directorate.
Republic Day function was held at Government Medical College, Rajouri wherein the GMC Principal Amarjeet Singh Bhatia unfurled the National Flag. After singing of National Anthem, sweets were also distributed on the occasion.
Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak unfurled Tricolor at the Horticulture complex, Gole Pully Talab Tillo Jammu to mark the celebration of 74th Republic Day in the presence of Joint Director Horticulture Jammu, Dy Director Horticulture (Central) and other officers and officials of the department.
Republic Day celebration at Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute’s (JKEDI) Bari Brahmana Campus began with unfurling of the National Flag by Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Director JKEDI. For the occasion, the Institute’s building was tastefully decorated with flowers and national flags. The celebrations took place in presence of the faculty members, officers and subordinate staff of the Institute.
Joint Director Forest Protection Force Jammu, Ifit Ara unfurled the National Flag at FPF HQ Complex Narwal, which was followed by National Anthem.
Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Rather unfurled the National flag at the function held at Swastha Bhawan in Bemina that was attended by scores of health employees and officers of the department. On the occasion, the Director also distributed promotion orders among 350 employees.
The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal unfurled the National Flag in the lawns of Directorate of Agriculture Lalmandi Srinagar in presence of Officers and Officials of the department.
Jammu Development Authority (JDA) celebrated Republic Day at Vikas Bhawan wherein Vice-Chairman JDA, Pankaj Magotra along with other officers and staff unfurled Tricolor. After saluting the flag, National Anthem was sung followed by distribution of sweets.
The Republic Day was celebrated in the premises of the Govt Industrial Training Institute, Akhnoor Road, Jammu wherein Joint Director, Skill Development Department, Khan Farooq Ahmed unfurled the National Flag. Vice Principal Govt ITI Jammu, Rajesh Kumar Banotra and Senior Faculty members viz S Karan Singh, Rajeev Kumar Dubey & Er Nazir Ahmed Molvi, President J&K ITI Employees United front were present on the occasion.
Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur celebrated the Republic Day with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. ADGP/Director Police Academy, Garib Dass, unfurled the National flag and took salute of the Parade Contingents. Staff of SKPA Udhampur, their family members and the trainee officers/officials of SKPA Udhampur were present on the occasion.
On the occasion of Republic Day celebration at Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur, SSP Shiv Kumar Sharma, Principal PTTI Vijaypur, unfurled the National Flag in presence of SP Rajinder Singh Rahi, Vice Principal PTTI Vijaypur, Zia-Ul-Haq, Dy SP (Admn/Outdoor), Kuldeep Raj, Dy SP (Tech/Indoor) PTTI Vijaypur, other staff and trainees. During function, the contingents of Trainees led by Inspr Vishal Kumar (RI/CDI) as Parade Commander and ASI Sulinder Singh (SM Outdoor) as 2nd in Command held March Past.
Republic Day was celebrated at Central Jail Jammu, Kotbhalwal with great enthusiasm. The celebrations began with the unfurling of National Flag by Veerinder Kumar Bhat, Superintendent Central Jail Jammu, Kotbhalwal. On the occasion, a colourful cultural programme was presented by the jail inmates.
District Jail Rajouri celebrated Republic Day in the Jail premises. The National Flag was unfurled by Superintendent Jail, Sanjeev Kumar while the guard of honour was presented by the Jawan of CRPF Personnel.
District Jail Udhampur celebrated Republic Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. The National Flag was hoisted by Superintendent District Jail Udhampur, Harish Kotwal.
Assistant Commandant CFPF C-187 Battalion was also present on the occasion. Rashtriya Salute was presented by the Jawans of CRPF.
POWERGRID Northern Region Transmission System -II celebrated Republic Day at POWERGRID township, near Bahu Plaza Jammu wherein Rajesh Kumar, Executive Director, POWERGRID Northern Region-II, unfurled the National flag in presence of senior officials, employees of the company and their family members. A cultural program with patriotic fervor was also organized on this occasion in which employees and their family members gave mesmerizing performances. Mementos were presented to contractual workers while winners of various competitions organized in connection with Republic day were also felicitated on this occasion.
Similar functions were organized at all establishments of POWERGRID in the Region comprising of states HP, Punjab, Haryana & UT of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Chandigarh.
Republic Day celebrations at NHPC Corporate office Faridabad began with unfurling of the National Flag by Y K Chaubey, Director (Technical) and Director (Personnel), NHPC. R P Goyal, Director (Finance), NHPC along with other senior officers and employees and their family members were also present on the occasion.
Chenab Valley Power Projects [P] Ltd (CVPPPL), entrusted to establish four hydro projects in the Chenab basin namely Pakal Dul (1000 MW), Kiru (624MW), Kwar (540 MW) and Kirthai-II (930MW), celebrated the 74th Republic Day. Hasan Nadeem, Managing Director unfurled the National Flag at its corporate office. Employees posted at Corporate office, Jammu participated in the function with full enthusiasm. Republic day celebrations were also held at Pakal Dul, Kiru and Kwar HE Projects at Kishtwar.
Kwar HE Project CVPPPL Kishtwar celebrated the Republic Day with great patriotic zeal and fervour. The event was initiated with unfurling of Tri-Colour by Rajan Jairath, General Manager, I/c (HoP) Kwar HE Project followed by address.
Dulhasti Power Station celebrated Republic Day with chief guest of the event, M K Kashyap, Group General Manager (Incharge) unfurling the National flag in a function organized at Administrative Building premises of the power station. He also inspected the Guard of Honor of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) contingent. On this occasion, Dr Nisha Sharma, General Manager (Medical Services), S K Mishra, General Manger (Electrical), Dr R P Singh, GDGM (HR) and Senior Officers & employees of Dulhasti Power Station along with, CISF personnel were present.
Airports Authority of India (AAI) celebrated the Republic Day with traditional flavour and patriotism at Civil Airport Jammu. S K Garg, Airport Director Jammu, unfurled the National Flag. The celebration continued with performance of cultural programmes and appreciation letters were also given to Best Performers of different stakeholders working at Jammu airport. Staff of AAI, CISF and various airlines participated in the celebrations. The airport Terminal was illuminated with colourful lights to Mark the occasion.
74th Republic Day was celebrated with full fervour and enthusiasm by the Railway officers, station staff along with personnel of Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police at Jammu Tawi Railway Station. Station Director Uchit Singhal unfurled the National Flag and addressed the gathering about the importance of Constitution and the ideals and objectives mentioned therein. On the occasion, an MPS stall for the travel convenience of Yatris was also inaugurated at Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway station.
Indian Army celebrated the festival of democracy with fervor, zeal and enthusiasm. Flag unfurling ceremony was organised at all Indian Army posts and 243 Schools of the region in which almost 27000 students, 2800 teachers, civil administration and local populace of all ages wholeheartedly celebrated the National event with pride even at the remotest locations of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts.
In the run up to the celebrations, a number of events were organised by the Indian Army for the children and Awaam from 22-26 Jan 2023, like painting competition, patriotic song competition, photography competition, Tiranga Rally, illumination of historical monuments and bridges and various other cultural events.
The events finally culminated in grand celebrations of the 74th Republic Day by the entire Awaam across the DKR region. The villagers turned out in large numbers waiving national flags with a sense of patriotism and pride.
On the occasion, Kuleed Chowk in Kishtwar was renovated and beautification was done by Indian Army, Dul. The national salute was presented to 100 feet High Mast National Flag and the inauguration of renovated Kuleed Chowk was done by Dr Devansh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar in presence of Indian Army and Khalil Poswal, SSP Kishtwar. In the celebration, Jhanj Pathak, a Maratha folk dance was displayed by the troops in a cultural program held at the DC complex where others also participated.
Apart from the celebration at Kishtwar town, Republic Day was celebrated with the same pride and passion in the remotest villages of Kishtwar district. Despite the sub-zero temperature and heavy snowfall, villagers came out and joined Indian Army in unfurl National Flag and celebrating the 74th Republic Day.
Celebrations for the Republic Day started in Rajgarh town of Ramban district with an event of Run for Fun with Tiranga organised by Indian Army for Awam. The people of Rajgarh, irrespective of color, caste, and creed, participated in the event and ran holding the Tiranga with pride. The loud slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai echoed in streets, demonstrating love for the Motherland. A total of 300 participants of various age group attended the event. .
All Jammu based units and establishments of CRPF celebrated Republic day with full zeal and fervor. On the auspicious occasion, the chief guest P S Ranpise, IGP Jammu Sector, unfurled the National flag at CRPF campus, Jammu. On this occasion all the Officers, Subordinate Officer and Jawans of various offices i.e J&K Zone, Jammu Sector, Composite Hospital, Range Jammu, Group Centre, AWS-04, B/5 Signal Bn and E/76 Bn CRPF were present.
As per the tradition of CRPF,” At-Home” function was also organised by Gazetted Officers for all the Subordinate officers. In the evening “Bada Khana”was also organized in Messes. The programme was organized under the leadership of Naresh Kumar Yadav, DIGP, in which Rajesh Kumar (Dy Comdt), Charan Singh (Dy Comdt. /Min.), and other Gazetted Officers, Subordinate Officers and Jawans also lend their support.
Mayor of Srinagar, Junaid Azim Mattu unfurled the National Flag on Republic Day at SMC Central Office in Srinagar. The ceremony was attended by Commissioner SMC, Athar Amir Khan; Chairman Health and Sanitation, Arif Majeed Pampori; Corporators and other senior officials and staff members from the corporation.
At Sports Stadium Doda, Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Doda, Dhananter Singh Kotwal unfurled the tricolour and took salute of the march past of contingents from JKP, CRPF, SSB, JKAP, JKP, FPF, NCC Jr, NCC Senior, Home Guard and scores of students from GDC Doda and Government/private schools.
Vice Chairperson DDC Sangeeta Rani Bhagat, Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda Abdul Qayoom, President MC Doda Ved Prakash Gupta, BDC Chairpersons, DDC members, ADDC Doda Pran Singh, ADC Doda Dr R K Bharti, Principal GMC Doda, besides other senior officers from civil and police administration, Army, CRPF, IRP, BSF, elected members of MC Doda, PRIs, prominent citizens, social workers, political activists and numbers of men, women and children were present on the occasion.
Main attractions of Republic Day celebrations at Sports Stadium Doda were Display of Tableaus, performance by the JK Academy of Art Culture and Languages, besides other eye-catching performances of school students. Later, trophies were distributed among students for outstanding performances in cultural items and parades, etc.
Similar function was reported from Bhaderwah, where Municipal Committee Bhaderwah, President Dr Shahid Rehman Moghal, unfurled the National Flag. Besides the Republic Day celebrations were also reported from Subdivision headquarters of Assar, Thathri, Gandoh, tehsil headquarters, other District offices.
