JAMMU, Jan 27: Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, has asserted that the Government at the Centre is paying focussed attention to Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory to ensure welfare and prosperity of the people of this traumatized region, who had to bear the brunt of terrorism for the past about three decades.
He expressed this while addressing a gathering during a programme organized here, today to kick-start tiling work at Kasim Nagar, Ward No 47 with an estimated cost of Rs 35 lakh. Corporator Sharda Kumari also accompanied the former Deputy Chief Minister.
Addressing the gathering, Kavinder said that the Union Government is paying focussed attention to Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory and is determined to carry out developmental activities in every nook and corner of this sensitive region.
He said that Modi led Government at the Centre has prioritized the overall development of all the areas without any rural-urban or other discrimination with main focus on roads which ensure the smooth supply of basic essentials as well as other commodities for the ease of living of the people. He said that the Government stands fully committed to ensure the improvement of road infrastructure in all the areas.
Kavinder said that the development of lane in Kasim Nagar was a long pending demand of the people of this area and after the completion of this development project the people of the area will get benefitted.
Meanwhile, the former Deputy Chief Minister also interacted with the people and took stock of their problems and issues on the occasion. After giving them a patient hearing, he assured to get their grievances addressed at the earliest by taking up the matter with the concerned authorities.
Among others who were present include district president, Rekha Mahajan, Karuna Chhetri, Pooja Chohan, Ashok Chhabra, Dr Davinder, Dalbir Singh, Suraj Rana and Krishan Lal.
