Various political parties celebrate Republic Day

JAMMU, Jan 27: Various political parties celebrated 74th Republic Day with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders hoisted the National flag at almost every locality, chowk and at all the important places across J&K. The party workers filled the ambience with patriotic slogans and songs, while distributing sweets to mark their happiness on the occasion.
At BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, party president for J&K UT Ravinder Raina, former DyCM Kavinder Gupta, Munish Sharma, Neelam Langeh, District Jammu South president Rekha Mahajan and other BJP leaders hoisted the Tricolour.
In Kashmir, J&K BJP general secretary (Org) accompanied by former MLC Surinder Ambardar, party spokesperson Altaf Thakur and other BJP leaders first took out a rally and then hoisted the National flag at the clock tower, Lal Chowk, Srinagar.
At the BJP office, Kachi Chawni, Jammu, former MP Shamsher Singh Manhas, former minister Sat Sharma, District Jammu president Parmod Kapahi and other BJP leaders hoisted the National flag.
At the BJP office, City Chowk, Jammu, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, vice-president Yudhvir Sethi, former minister Priya Sethi and other BJP leaders hoisted the flag.
Party president Ravinder Raina and general secretary (Org) Ashok Koul also addressed the gathering on the occasion. They said that BJP remembers the sacrifices made by great persons in the service to the Nation and appealed to every one else to remember their contribution. They said that J&K is progressing on the path of peace and prosperity while defeating the nefarious designs of anti-national forces.
Kavinder Gupta asked all to pledge for the unity and integrity of the Nation. He said that India is progressing forward under the strong leadership of Narendra Modi.
Former MLC and senior party leader Vikram Randhawa hoisted National flag at Chowadi, Narwal Balla, Gorkha Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Chhani Himmat, Railway Station and Dashmesh Nagar. He was accompanied by several senior and middle rung party leaders. Ex-MLC extended greetings to the people on this occasion. Sweets were also distributed among the people on this occasion.
Dy Mayor and senior BJP leader Baldev Singh Billawaria unfurled National flag at Ramlila Ground Gangyal, Model Town, Jeevan Nagar, Satwari and Gadigarh today in presence of locals of the area. He also paid tributes to the freedom fighters.
Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, party spokesperson and Chairperson J&K Waqf Board unfurled tricolor at Waqf headquarters Jammu to mark the Republic Day. The Waqf staff and many Imams were also present on the occasion. She also addressed the gathering and greeted the people on this occasion.
Senior BJP leader and former minister Rajiv Jasrotia, unfurled tricolor at PRO office Kathua on Republic Day. On ths occasion Vice Chairperson MC Kathua Rekha Devi, Ex-Chairman MC Nagri , Anil Singh & Sanjeev Vaid Councillors besides others were also present on the occasion.
Senior BJP leader and Co-convenor, Cooperative Cell of the party, Ravi Bakshi hoisted National flag at Sainik Colony, Channi Himmat, Gadigarh and Trikuta Complex, BC Road, General Bus Stand, Jammu on the occasion of Republic Day, in presence of party activists and locals of the area.
Congress Party celebrated 74th Republic Day at Srinagar Party office and unfurled National flag. Senior party leaders Ghulam Nabi Monga, Mohd Anwar Bhat, Abdul Gani Khan, Irfan Naqib, Abid Kashmiri , Basharat Bin Qadir and others participated in the function. The leaders exchanged greetings and distributed sweets on the occasion.
District Congress Jammu (Rural), president Hari Singh Chib hoisted National flag in a function held in Jammu North Assembly segment in presence several party leaders and workers besides locals of the area. Block president Pata Ploura, Som Nath Sharma was also present on the occasion. Chib greeted the people on the occasion and appealed them to maintain peace, love and brotherhood in J&K.
President DCC Udhampur, K C Bhagat unfurled National flag on Republic Day at party office Udhampur in presence of other office bearers. The party workers distributed sweets on the occasion. District Congress Mahila president was also present on the occasion.
Senior Congress leader and party state secretary Satish Sharma ( Former Chairman JM C) hoisted tricolour at Gangyal in Ward No. 56 in presence of locals of the area. He complimented the people on the occasion. The sweets were also distributed among the gathering.
District Congress general secretary and president Beopar Mandal, Gurmeet Singh hoisted national flag at at Shahidi Chowk Jammu, in Jammu East in presence of Ward president Hardavinder Singh. Senior Congress leader Badrinath Sharma unfurled tricolor at Kotli Shah Daula and Govt High School R S Pura to mark the Republic Day.
National Conference president and former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah (MP) hoisted National flag at his Gupkar residence in Srinagar on 74th Republic Day in presence of several party leaders and activists.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Farooq said, ” Least we forget the Father of the Nation, Gandhi and many other freedom fighters , whose suffering and sacrifice have rendered the attainment of independence and establishment of this sovereign democratic republic possible.”
Calling the Indian Constitution as symbol of unity in diversity, Dr Farooq said, ” Credit must be given to the founding fathers of our Constitution for envisioning such a sacrosanct document that upholds fraternity, secularism, federalism and confers upon citizens equal rights without discrimination of caste, creed, , religion and region. I hope and pray this founding document of our country is practiced in letter and spirit.”
Provincial president National Conference Rattan Lal Gupta today stressed the need for preserving and promoting the secular ethos, saying unity in diversity is the biggest strength of the nation.
Unfurling tricolour on Republic Day at party office Jammu, Gupta exhorted the people to maintain harmony and strive for peace and unity. He greeted the people on this occasion and hoped that they will work for strengthening the bonds of amity and secularism.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included, Ajay Sadhotra, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Babu Rampaul, Abdul Gani Malik, Vijay Lochan, Abdul Gani Teli, Dr Chaman Lal Bhagat, Pardeep Bali, Chander Mohan Sharma, Ayub Malik, Vijay Lakhshmi Datta, Nar Singh, Zeeshan Rana, Rita Gupta, Dilshad Malik, Rashida Begum and others.
At Udhampur NC office district president Sunil Verma hoisted tricolour in presence of district office bearers. Ch Mohd Gani, K K Madan, Mohd Rafiq and others were also present.
Democratic Azad Party today celebrated the Republic day and hoisted the National flag at all district headquarters.
Party chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad unfurled the national flag at his official residence in Delhi. The main function was held at Jammu where general secretary DAP, RS Chib hoisted the National flag.
In Jammu Party office also general secretary R S Chib hoisted national flag in presence of senior leaders G M Saroori, Jugal Kishore, Mohd Amin Bhat, Salman Nizami, Ashok Sharma, PR Manhas, Prabha Slathia and others.
In Srinagar, party headquarters the flag was hoisted by Zonal president Bilal Peer. The party leadership visited the Suchetgarh Border in RS Pura and exchanged sweets with the BSF jawans to celebrate the Republic day. On the occasion, Chib said that these occasions are uniting the people of the country who exchange greetings.
DAP Provincial general secretary for Jammu, Adv Maheshwar Singh Manhas unfurled National flag in Jammu North Assembly segment. Manhas greeted people on this occasion and paid floral tributes to the freedom fighters who laid down their life for this cause. Party leaders Harjeet Singh, Devinder Khajuria, T K Bhat, K S Chib, Pawan Kumar Bhagat, Meenakshi, Suraksha and others were also present on the occasion.
Apni Party organized an impressive event on Republic Day at the party headquarters Church Lane, Srinagar. The party president Syed Mohd Altaf Bukhari unfurled the national flag during the event.
Bukhari extended his greetings to the J&K people and said this day is a symbol of freedom, equality and integrity of our country and its each and every citizen.
He said, “In 1950, on this day, the Constitution of India was adopted that bestows us with the guarantees of all fundamental rights including freedom with respect to speech and expression; freedom of religion to all the citizens; freedom of personal liberty; freedom to live a life of dignity, and so on. Therefore, we celebrate this day with great patriotic enthusiasm and nationalist fervour.”
Besides Bukhari, the prominent party leaders who were present on the occasion included Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, Usman Majid, Rafi Ahmad Mir, Junaid Azim Mattu and many others.
Shiv Sena Hindustan J&K, president, Pt Rajesh Kesri unfurled tricolor at party office Jammu on the occasion of Republic Day amidst chanting of National song. He extended greetings to the people and distributed sweets on the occasion.
Aam Aadmi Party leader and former MLA Yash Pal Kundal unfurled National flag at Mawa village in Rajpura block of Ramgarh in district Samba today in presence of AAP activists. He also addressed the gathering and greeted people on this occasion.
Senior AAP leader and DDC Member T S Tony unfurled Nationa flag at various places in Suchetgarh and Jammu today, in presence of party workers and locals of the area.
J&K National Panthers Party celebrated Republic Day at Party office Gandhinagar. President president Vilakshan Singh hoisted National flag. He congratulated people of the country on this occasion. Several party office bearers were also present on the occasion.
Janata Dal Secular, J&K Unit acting president Ranjay Bargotra hoisted National flag at party office in presence of Bhagwati Sharan Sharma , R R Sharma and H C Dogra. The participants sung National song and also distributed sweets on the occasion.
Karanti Dal, J&K Unit president Pritam Sharma unfurled National flag at Lower Roop Nagar in presence of Karnail Chand, Puran Khajuria, Rakesh Sharma, Rajan Gupta, Pt Ravi Sharma and others. Sharma greeted the people on this occasion.
