NEW DELHI, Nov 2: Freight rates for nine tonne pay load section declined by Rs 1000 in the local truck transport market today following huge position of trucks against cargo movements.
Transporters said heavy availability of trucks in the markets as compared to cargo movements, mainly pulled down a few centres freight rates.
Delhi to Ahmedabad, Surat and Mumbai rates moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 22,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 27,000.
Rates to Baroda, Kanpur and Kolkatta also declined by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 24,000, Rs 19,000 and Rs 29,000.
