H&ME directive to MC heads

SRINAGAR, Jan 30: Noting the overstay of the Medical Officers (MOs), the Government has directed the heads of all the Medical Colleges (MCs) across J&K to immediately identify and relieve such doctors who have completed the prescribed term of 3-year tenure posting
In this regard, the directives have been issued by the Health & Medical Education Department (H&ME) which has also issued a list of 8 overstaying doctors at the Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, seeking an explanation from the Principal of GMC, Anantnag as to why these doctors were allowed to stay beyond the tenure.
The overstaying doctors, listed by the H&ME, have been named as Dr Ishfaq Ahmad, Medical Officer, and it has been informed that his completion of tenure posting was due in May last year; similarly, Dr Mudasir Zahoor, Medical Officer, completion of tenure posting was July last year; Dr Jawaid Ahmad Dug, Medical Officer completion of tenure posting was March last year; Dr Arif Wani, Medical Officer, completion of tenure posting was January last year; Dr Mudasir Ahmad Bhat, Medical Officer, completion of tenure posting was June last year; Dr Wani Shahid, Medical Officer, completion of tenure posting was March last year; Dr Suhail Mansoor, Medical Officer with completion of tenure posting dating back to January last year and Dr Muzaffar Rehman, Medical Officer, whose completion of tenure posting has also been given out as January last year.
All these doctors, whose completion of tenure posting has been given out last year, have been continuing with their posting at GMC, Anantnag without the authorities taking note of the same until the H&ME ordered their immediate relieving.
“…Medical Officers, presently continuing unauthorizedly on the tenure postings viz. Senior Residents/Registrars etc. beyond the prescribed period of three years in gross violation of policy/guidelines of the department shall be deemed to have been relieved with immediate effect from the Government Medical College, Anantnag,” H&ME said while directing them to report in the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK) for further duties.
The H&ME, while listing the overstaying doctors at GMC, Anantnag has directed the Principal, GMC Anantang to explain why he has allowed the concerned Medical Officers to continue unauthorizedly beyond the authorized term, apart from ordering him to fill up the vacant positions of Senior Residents on priority as per norms.
Further, all the heads of the GMCs, which include, Jammu, Srinagar, Anantnag, Baramulla, Kathua, Doda and Rajouri have been directed to immediately relieve all such doctors, who have completed the stipulated period of 3 years of their tenure postings as Registrarship, Demonstratorship, Sr. Residency, Tutor etc, as on 01.01.2023 while the concerned have been asked to report Directorates of Health Services, Jammu/Kashmir for further duties.
“Director, Health Services, Kashmir shall submit posting proposal in respect of the aforesaid doctors for utilizing their services in the peripheral areas,” the H&ME said.
