‘Jan Andolan’ by Admn, police, people will end menace

JAMMU, Jan 30: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said today that narco-terrorism has become second form of terrorism and called for “fear-free, corruption-free and drug-free” Jammu and Kashmir. He said drug addiction is being spread under well-thought conspiracy to destroy young generations of the country.
Addressing a function here after paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his death anniversary, Sinha said drug addiction has become a big challenge in the society.
“It has become a major problem which perhaps we can’t imagine. Under a well thought conspiracy, an attempt is being made to destroy young generations in the country. A big section of population in Jammu and Kashmir has also become a victim of it,” he said.
Asserting that it is not only drug addiction, the Lieutenant Governor said the narco-terrorism has become second form of terrorism.
“Only a ‘Jan Andolan’ (mass campaign) by the administration, police and elected representatives will lead to end of the menace (of narco-terrorism),” he said.
Sinha said whole of society approach is need of the hour to fulfil resolve of ‘Amrit Kaal Khand’ to create fear-free, corruption-free and drug-free Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today paid tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his ‘punyatithi’.
