State Govt unconcerned on KPs’ issues: Darakhshan

JAMMU, Nov 2:  Socialistic Democratic Party has strongly criticized the State Government for its attitude of neglect towards the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community.
Addressing a press conference at the party office here today, SDP president Dr Darakshan Andrabi projected the issues of the KPs and alleged that State Government was not serious towards the problems being faced by the displaced community. She said even after  more than two decades the intellectual and educated community  of Kashmir is living a life of distress  and dejection away from home in exile. The State Government is completely hostile to the problems of KPs and their solution.
She pointed out that in view of the killing price hike of all the commodities, the cash relief being provided to the Kashmiri migrants was not sufficient and it should be increased to ten thousand per month per family. The SDP leader pointed out that State Government was sleeping over Central Government’s special job package for the displaced youth under KPs’ rehabilitation policy. A long delay in filling up of the remaining posts allotted and funded especially by the Central Government for Kashmiri Pandit youth was creating suspicion about the designs of the State Government.
Dr Andrabi demanded that these vacant posts be filled by without any more delay. She also pointed out that displaced community was facing problems in disbursement of ration in time. She said migration of Kashmiri Pandits is a blot on the secular traditions of  Kashmir  and the process should be reserved to mend it. “By merely making announcements that KPs are inseparable part of Kashmir can not be justified in delivering our duties. We have to show it practically,” Dr Andrabi maintained.
