JAMMU, Nov 2: Minister for Cooperatives (Independent Charge), Finance, Higher Education and Stationeries, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma today reviewed the functioning and the business targets of Super Bazaar.
Senior officers of JAKFED, Super Bazaar and Cooperative Societies were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the main objective of the Super Bazaar was to provide essential commodities to the people cheaper than the market prices. He asked the management to take innovative measures to expand the business of the organization at all its shopping centres in and around Jammu city.
The Minister informed that Super Bazaar Board has decided to give 20 percent Dearness Allowance to its employees from October 2013 adding that 6th Pay Commission, HRA and other profits have already been released in their favour keeping in view the rise in scale of profit. He further, added that business of Cooperative Institutions have been made online to ensure transparency and accountability in the institution. It also helps to keep a check on market prices of essential commodities and consumers interest is the prime concern of Cooperative movement, he maintained.
Enquiring about the position of sales recorded by Super Bazaar and other allied outlets during the current year, the Minister asked the concerned to work hard to raise the scale of profit, adding that the financial self sufficiency would be beneficial for the employees as it will be able to get their genuine dues.
Stressing the need for further streamlining of the business activities of the organization, Dr. Manohar Lal urged upon the functionaries to evolve better work culture by putting in their sincere efforts to achieve the business targets.
The MD apprised the Minister that the management is trying to provide a full range of varieties at its shopping complex keeping in view the public demands. He said that the institution is working on no profit and no loss concept and it is due to the tireless efforts of the management of Bazaar that this institution is providing yeoman services to the people of Jammu city.
