Locals protest for repair of Nagrota road

UDHAMPUR, Jan 31: Agitated over the extremely bad condition of Nagrota road connecting with Battal Balian road, locals held a strong protest at Nagrota against the Public Works Department, PWD (R&B) authorities, here today.
The protesting locals were raising slogans against the PWD and the District administration. They said that this road was totally damaged, which needs immediate repair and black topping.
“Due to the road condition, school going children have to face big difficulties and sometimes small children fall into these big potholes they have to come back home instead of going to school,” the people explained.
They further said that the condition of this road was deportable to the extent that walking on foot as well as plying the vehicle on this road, was not possible. Even as the higher authorities were variously apprised about bad condition of the road, no action was taken in this regard till date, they added.
Protesting people appealed to the PWD and District administration to look into the matter in the public interest and get the road repaired.
The protest demonstration was addressed by Kuldeep Kumar, Tilak Raj, Najir Ahmad, Rajindar Kumar, Pars Ram, Mul Raj, Mohd Latif, Vicky and Dil Mohd.
