SAMBA, Feb 1: Former Minister and Apni Party Provincial President Manjit Singh has demanded early elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a monthly meeting here at Vijaypur, Singh said that the LG-led administration has completely collapsed, resulting in problems to the people.
“People in Jammu as well as Kashmir regions have faced equal discrimination in the LG-led administration and the youth are the worst sufferers due to the rising unemployment in the UT,” he said.
“Only an elected Government can come up with a solution to the rising grievances of the people in the twin regions,” he added, while seeking early elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Referring to the alleged uncertainty over the Government’s land eviction drive, the Apni Party leader said that people in Jammu and Kashmir are worried about their land, future, resources, employment and protection of rights from the outsiders.
“The LG administration must address this confusion among the farming community,” he further said.
Singh said that if Apni party forms the next Government in the UT, it will ensure equitable development of all the regions by ending the discrimination.
“We will also address the issues of the DPs and refugees while asking the current dispensation in the Centre to release the pending financial package of Rs 25 lakh per family,” assured Singh.
Raman Thappa, Saleem Alam, Vipul Bali, Sai Bhagat among other leaders were also present on the occasion.
