J&K as an integral part of India: Omar

JAMMU :   Laying emphasis upon dialogue once again  the J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today stressed that Jammu and Kashmir as an integral part of India as it has acceded to India, but required a treatment to resolve the political crisis within the state.
Speaking to media after inaugurating the Civil Secretariat office in the state’s winter capital, Abdullah said that Jammu and Kashmir had already acceded to India and was the country’s integral part.
Here it needs to mention that Omar has been time and again in controversies over his remarks regarding Accession of J&K, he today replying a question in this regard briefly said, “Jammu and Kashmir had already acceded to India and was the country’s integral part yet it requires a political treatment so that peace can be resorted.
When asked about his recent remarks resolving the ‘Kashmir issue’ on the pattern of an arrangement in Northern Ireland, that his suggestions of was purely his personal idea. “There were many proposals from different quarters, he said and added,” the National Conference had its proposal, Congress has its own,  PDP had its own and BJP too has its own model.
He giving clarification said, “One learns from such suggestions and proposals even I had mentioned ‘One China different systems like Tibet ke lie ala gaur Honkong ke liye  alag (different systems for Tibet and Hongkong).”
All such proposals should be sent to centre for discussions, he said, adding, “Dialogue is the only way of resolving the Kashmir imbroglio.”
Meanwhile, replying a query regarding separatist he criticized the separatists in valley for not participating in the dialogue process with New Delhi. Once again inviting separatists to dialogue table, he said, “It is them (separatists) who have to decide but we can’t force them to sit across the table.”
To a question regarding ‘Modi wave’, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah it is exaggerated. However at the same he added it would be wrong to say there is Modi wave but he (Modi) has some affect in the elections.
Referring to a query regarding plight of border people after recent spurt of ceasefire, J&K Chief Minister urged Pakistan to respect the ceasefire of November 2003 and wanted the two countries to restore clam on the borders and added the concerned district administrations have been instructed to take due measures for the welfare of the border people in any case of emergency.
Earlier, the opening of Civil Secretariat here today on Annual Darbar Move, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah was accorded rousing welcome by the Council of Ministers, top civil and police officials and other government functionaries. He was also given Guard of Honour by the Jammu and Kashmir Police contingent.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated upgraded fully computerized administrative halls for Hospitality and Protocol, Health and Medical Education, Housing and Urban Development, Ladakh Affairs, Labour and Forest departments, completed at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore within a period of six months.  (AGENCIES)
