JAMMU, Feb 2: Coming heavily on the Union Budget 2023, Aam Aadmi Party’s State Spokesperson and member of State Media Coordination Committee, Appu Singh said that the Centre’s budget has no vision and there is absolutely no place for any ‘amrit’.
Addressing a press conference, here today, she said that the Union Budget 2023 has nothing for the Indian farmers, the soldier and the youth. The fact remains that the budget has paved a way for the favourite business tycoons of this country to rob and flourish even more, she added.
AAP leader pointed out that the Union Budget had no subsidy offered to farmers with respect to fertilizers while the MSP (Minimum Support Price) was not doubled, as promised. “The allocation of Rs 2200 crores for almost 70-80 crore farmers for Start Ups was nothing but a mockery of economics. Rather, the Delhi Government while drafting their Government schemes allocates more money than the one, which the farmers have been offered by the Central Government,” she said.
Appu Singh further said there was absolutely no massive announcement made for the soldiers of this country, who are guarding the borders and even the defence budget was not paid much attention.
“The unemployment rate of this country is 8.3 percent and the Government had nothing to explain in the budget as to how it is looking forward to handling the unemployment of the youth in this country,” she said.
Describing the budget as a debt trouble for the future Governments, AAP leader said that in totality, the budget was for Rs 45 lakh crores and amongst it Rs 15 lakh crore is the debt. “Further, there is no inclusive growth in the budget. No new hospitals have been announced considering the massive Corona havoc the country faced. Rather the health budget has been reduced from 2.2 percent to 1.98 percent. The education budget has been reduced from 2.64% to 2.5%,” she said and added that it clearly reflected that health and education were not a priority for the Government.
Pointing out that J&K has been allocated an amount of Rs 35, 581.44 crores, which is way less than the current fiscal revised estimate of Rs 44,538.13 crores, she said it was tragic that Delhi has been allocated an amount of Rs 325 crores despite the Delhi people contributing around Rupees 1, 78, 000 crore to the Central Taxes coffers.
