Sir,
Of late, it was felt very much necessary to shift to some safer places the inmates of the halmets living close to and along the borders with Pakistan due to their exposure to unprovoked and unwarranted firing and shelling by Pakistan troops. It is heartening to note that the government is preparing the necessary data etc; in respect of such families. Administratively the border sub divisions have been made responsive and more functional for the purpose. Priorities must be given to such villages which are at a distance of one or two kilometers from the IB. However, this is not any permanent solution to the problem as it is there for the last three decades and perpetually getting more escalated by Pakistan. The state of fear and uncertainty among the villagers near the border has to be resolved permanently. No ad – hoc measures shall help.
Yours etc…….
