JAMMU, Feb 3: In ongoing anti-encroachment drive of Jammu and Kashmir Administration, around 1463 Kanal State land has been retrieved so far from the encroachers in four districts viz. Kathua, Rajouri, Ramban and Jammu.
The district administration Ramban today retrieved more than 737 Kanal State land across eight tehsils of the district. The authorities retrieved the State land measuring 225 Kanal in tehsil Ramban besides demolishing illegal structures. As many as 210 Kanal State land was vacated in tehsil Pogal-Paristan (Ukhral) during a joint anti encroachment drive by different enforcement departments.
As per the Revenue Department, the teams of officers and officials demolished illegal structures built on State land and retrieved 96 Kanal in Khari, 120 Kanal in Ramsoo, 50 Kanal in Rajgarh, 14 Kanal in Banihal and 22 Kanal in Batote.
In district Kathua, the district administration retrieved over 126029 Kanal and 08 Marlas of land so far. The State land retrieved today includes 127 Kanal and 05 Marlas in Hiranagar, 194 Kanal and 15 Marlas in Marheen, 57 Kanals and 11 Marlas in Dinga Amb, 27 Kanals and 07 Marlas in Basohli, 29 Kanal and 13 Marlas in Lohai Malhar, 56 Kanals and 15 Marlas in Mahanpur and 1 Kanal and 13 Marlas in Nagri Parole.
Likewise in Rajouri district, during the day long drive, Tehsildar Teryath retrieved 50 Kanal prime State land in Jungrail, Tehsildar Berripattan retrieved 12 Kanal State land in village Sayal while 40 Kanal land was reclaimed in village Choki Handan of Nowshera tehsil. Besides, Tehsildar Sunderbani removed the encroachment on NH 144 A and handed over the land to BRO for road extension.
Similarly, the district administration Jammu today retrieved prime State land measuring 5 Kanal and 2 Marla at village Deeli during an eviction cum demolition drive. In another anti encroachment drive, the administration retrieved State land measuring 100 Kanal at village Palwan (Akhnoor).
Besides, a prime state land measuring 23 Kanal and 13 Marla was retrieved in village Partap Singh Pura (tehsil Bishnah) and the State land Board was also installed on the retrieved land.
