UDHAMPUR, Nov 4: Police today arrested a bootlegger from Mini Bus Stand area when he was smuggling liquor for its illegal sale in his native village in Udhampur district.
A Police party of Udhampur police, led by Incharge District Special Branch Udhampur ASI Madan Lal arrested the accused namely Bansi Lal of Badhota Lander in Panchari tehsil and seized 36 pouches and 15 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession.
The accused was smuggling the liquor to his native village Badhota Lander for its illegal sale there.
In this connection, a case under section 48A Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
