UDHAMPUR, Feb 5: A young woman was knocked to death while three persons were injured when a motorcycle hit two pedestrians near Gandi Puli on Dhar Road, here today.
The deceased was identified as Shoba Devi (28), wife of Lt Raj Kumar, resident of Partagan Ramnagar. She was walking on the roadside when a motorcycle skidded off the road and hit her.
Another pedestrian as well as motorcyclist and pillion rider were also injured in the accident. Locals took the injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur and doctors referred them to GMC Hospital Jammu where Shoba Devi succumbed to her injuries.
The other injured, undergoing treatment at hospital, were identified as Pardeep Sharma (47), son of Bhagat Ram, resident of Head Post Office Udhampur (pedestrian), Rahul Sharma (20) son of Baldev Raj (motorcyclist) and Jugal Kumar (21) son of Rattan Lal (pillion rider), both residents of Barmeen.
Udhampur Police has registered a case in this connection.
