JAMMU, Nov 5: Dr Nikhil Dev Wazir, president of Indian Dental Association (IDA) Jammu and Dr Bhupinder Singh, general secretary, IDA, have strongly condemned the alleged pressure tactics been used by certain people to get themselves registered with Jammu and Kashmir State Dental Council (JKSDC) without eligibility.
“We warn these elements not to interfere with the J&K State Dental Council. It is compulsory to register with JKSDC to start a dental clinic within the J&K State.
Practicing dentistry without JKSDC registration is illegal and unauthorized,” they said in a statement.
They further said that IDA Jammu has a list of quacks that are running the dental clinics without any permission and certain beauty parlors and salons have also started some dental procedures and are playing with the health of general public which is unethical and illegal.
Dr Gautam Sharma, joint secretary, IDA, appealed the State Dental Council (JKSDC) to inspect the dental clinics and register them. He also demanded that the unregistered clinics should be sealed immediately.
