RAJOURI, June 16: Two persons including mother and her minor daughter, were killed while six others injured, when a 4-wheeler Tata Magic vehicle fell into gorge in Kalakot area of district Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said the accident took place at around 10.30 am near Kurlian village when the ill-fated vehicle, bearing registration No. JK-11/7501 was on its way to Kalakot. Eight passengers were on board. It was on its way to tehsil headquarters Kalakot from Kurlian.
As the vehicle had covered hardly a few kilometers of distance, the driver lost control on the vehicle and it landed into nearly 100 feet deep gorge. The driver, jumped out and escaped from the spot. While Kanchan Bala, wife of Satpal of village Sadhok Kurlian was killed on the spot, her 7-year-old daughter, Sobia succumbed to injuries near Chowki Chora while being shifted to GMC hospital, Jammu.
Two others referred to GMC Jammu are identified as Pran Nath, son of Des Raj, resident of Kurlian and Munna, son of Satpal of Sadhok-Kurlian. Four injured admitted to Kalakot hospital are- Ramesh Chander, son of Parmanand, Mohd Farooq, his daughter Farzana Kouser and son Mudassar, residents of Kurlian. The police has registered a case in this connection.
