JAMMU, Feb 7: Accusing the Government of creating chaos by resorting to forcible eviction of land and not sparing even poor, Aam Aadmi Party in Jammu and Kashmir has predicted that public outcry against the ongoing drive will evict BJP from power.
Addressing a press conference, here today, AAP Spokesperson Nirmal Manhas and Mir Mudassir, District president-AAP Anantnag, described the ongoing eviction drive as most obnoxious and inhuman, which has caused fear frenzy across the Union Territory.
“Poor have been seen screaming and beating their chest on losing their earnings of years with no hope insight for their survival and consolation while the Government is bulldozing their houses built after hard labour of years,” they said.
Pointing out that the rules to evict the illegal occupants of state land existed even during the Maharaja rule as well but the same were not implemented against those using State land for residential purpose.
“On one hand even LG is talking loudly about action against only big fish and land mafia whereas on the other hand only lip-sympathy is being exhibited towards small farmers as no such notification to spare them has been issued by the Government,” said the AAP leaders.
“AAP is against the organized loot of State land & Forest land through big fish and mafias but the small petty owners who purchased few Marlas from such mafias after fulfilling possible legal formalities under norms have not at all been protected as such there is huge resentment simmering against the ruling dispensation,” they added.
AAP leader claimed that encroachment of State/Forest land for housing purposes had taken place because of Government failure to work on required cheap housing plans and check the politicians/officials supporting illegal sale of the encroached land.
Maintaining that proper home work should been done with categorization of the kind of land to sensitively deal with the situation, AAP predicted that pick and choose on communal basis to polarize the situation will boomerang and ultimately evict the BJP from power.
