DC Srinagar holds Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Lasjan

SRINAGAR, Feb 8:- The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today held a Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Lasjan area in Panthachowk Tehsil of the District in an endeavour to bring administration at the door steps of the people for on spot resolution of developmental issues of the public under Weekly Block Diwas.
Vice Chairman, District Development Council, Srinagar, Bilal Ahmad, DDC member Lasjan and other PRI representatives, besides large number of people of Lasjan, Nowgam, Soiteng, Gundbal, Baginder, Padshaibagh and other adjoining areas were part of the Public Grievance Redressal Camp.
The demands and issues put before the DC include establishment of Higher Secondary School in the area, augmentation of Water supply and drainage system, upgradation of High School Lasjan, development of playground, upgradation of sports infrastructure, resolution of jurisdictional issues, early completion of Soiteng bridge, setting up of Patwar Khanna, Veterinary centre, replacement & shifting of electric utilities, mitigating the issues of solid waste in the area, besides other development issues were flagged-off during the Grievance Redressal Camp.
The Deputy Commissioner after giving patient hearing to the issues and demands of the public, sought on the spot response from the concerned District Officers present during the Grievance Redressal Camp.
The DC also assured the people of Lasjan, Soiteng and other adjoining areas that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be taken up with concerned authorities on priority. The DC also gave on the spot direction to the concerned officers for time bound redressal of the public issues.
Later, the DC inspected various developmental works being carried out in the area and directed the concerned executing agencies to speed up the pace of works to complete them in set timelines.
He inspected the pace of ongoing work on 122 metre Soiteng, Lasjan Bridge being constructed at a cost of Rs 12.98 crore supposed to connect Pandrethan to Vethpara Lasjan areas.
The DC asked the concerned executing agency to speed up the pace of remaining work for levelling of approach road from both the sides and ensure its completion by March 2023 so that it is thrown open for vehicular traffic so that People from Soiteng, Lasjan, Padshahibagh, Athwajan, demand is fulfilled.
