Cancellation of Channi Himmat plot merely hoax: CHRA

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Feb 9: A meeting of Channi Himmat Residents Association (CHRA) was held under the chairmanship of its president VK Grover in which members termed the recently issued notice by J&K Housing Board for constructing residential houses in the allotted plots is merely a hoax.
The participating members discussed the implication of the claimed final notice which cautioned by multiple warnings to the violators of land use change by commercialisation and illegally converting.
It is pertinent to mention here that the J&K Housing Board cautioned the allottees to construct residential houses on their plots within next two months failing which their plots shall be cancelled.
They said that by virtue of covenants of lease deed no other activities except construction of dwelling houses was permitted but with passage of time, some people have started converting their allotted premises for commercial purpose making this colony unfit for residential purpose due to frequent traffic jams.
“This made possible by illegal, corrupt and unconstitutional involvement of J&K Housing Board and JMC,” they alleged and appealed to the Lt Governor to take action on violators for which the Association has been fighting for years against these violations.
