Power tarrif defaulters

Sir,
Refer news item,”Beigh,Yasin major……. DE dated Oct 7, 2013. As saying don’t throw stones at others houses while you live in a glass house.” Quite opposite happens in our State so far as the payment of power tariff is concerned. The general people pay electric dues in time, but it is only the ministers and bureaucrats who don’t bother to pay the dues till the amount runs in thousands and lakhs. It automatically means that the very law makers become law breakers. How can they force the common people to pay electric dues in time when they themselves are the defaulters to the tune of thousands and lakhs of rupees? Why a double standard? The need of electricity in any season is not hidden to anybody. People resort to demonstrations against the Govt for power curtailments during the peak hours of heat. The same is the case in winter season when people require electricity for heating purposes. When contacted the Govt. authorities of PDD department complain of huge arrears but their statement is not true because people generally pay money but it is only the biggies who defy the Govt orders till the arrears amount to lakhs of rupees.
So it will be in the fitness of things if all the consumers, irrespective of their status or position, pay the dues in time so that  there are no unscheduled cuts in the power supply. Not only this but the practice of nonpayment of dues will stop.
The defaulters should not take undue advantage of their position because all are equal before law. Such people should think that they are also the elements and part and parcel of the social fabric.
Yours etc….
