JAMMU, Feb 11: A deputation of All J&K Graduate Engineers Association, Civil led by Gopal Sharma, Association president here today met Principal Secretary, Jal Shakti Deptt, Shaleen Kabra and raised various issues being faced by the engineers of the Department.
The deputation demanded filling up of all the vacant posts from Assistant Engineer to Chief Engineer level in Jal Shakti and allied Engineering Departments.
Those who were present in the deputation also demanded that against the retirements in coming months promotions should be made and orders should be issued accordingly.
The Principal Secretary agreed to fill every vacancy immediately soon after its occurrence for smooth functioning of the Department.
Fresh letters for vacancies in allied Engineering Departments were also sought so that stagnation prevailing among Engineers in Jal Shakti Department (JSD) is removed by way of timely promotions as at present Engineers with 14 to 17 years of gazetted service are still AEEs and most of them have even retired as AEE.
The issue of regularization of services of the engineers was also raised and the Principal Secretary informed that a meeting was held with Public Service Commission (PSC) in this regard and there were few observations of PSC which will be replied soon to pave the way for fast track regularization of engineers.
Issue of cadre review was also raised and demand was raised regarding corrigendum stating that existing cadre posts of CE in JSD is not reduced.
The Principal Secretary directed Director Finance JSD to take up the matter with concerned officers and release leave salary etc to settle the claim of Engineers serving in JKPDC.
