Samba police solves another theft case, arrests thief

SAMBA, Feb 11 : Under the guidance of SSP Samba, Benam Tosh, police has worked out yet another theft case registered at Police Station Vijaypur, arrested thief and recovered stolen items worth rupees seventy thousand (70000) from his possession.
Police said on February 7, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station (PS), Vijaypur by one Shivam Vaid, son of Guru Asra Mal of Vijaypur regarding theft of a parcel containing 38 numbers of costly lady suits from outside of his shop “Vishal Proprietor” at main market Vijaypur.
Upon the complaint, a case FIR No. 21/2023 U/S 379 IPC was registered at Police Station, Vijaypur and investigation was started to work out the theft case.
During the course of investigation, a police team of PS Vijaypur comprising of SHO, Tribhawan Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO, Vijaypur Priyanka Kumari and Additional SP, Samba, Surinder Choudhary arrested thief identified as Love Kumar, son of Kanchand of Gurdaspur, Tibber (Punjab) presently at W.No.9 Vijaypur.
During sustained interrogation the arrested thief confessed his involvement in the theft case and on his disclosure all the stolen 38 numbers of lady suits costing seventy thousand have been recovered from the different persons whom he had sold the stolen suits. Further investigation is going on.
This is the 33rd thief arrested and 15th theft cases solved by Samba Police within a short span of one month after launching intensive drive against thieves in Samba district on the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police, Benam Tosh.
