UDHAMPUR, Feb 11: DDC Member from Panchari Moungri, Jasvir Singh, today said that road connectivity in rural areas is facing serious challenges even after a huge budget allocation from the Union government.
Addressing a press conference here today, he said that common people as well as the Government staff travelling on the PMGSY roads of Panchari Moungri on a daily basis facing huge challenges as road is still not traffic worthy even after 4 years of beginning of ongoing project of up-gradation of road.
It mainly includes Kainthgali-Moungri, Moungri-Bariote, Kainthgali-Malti, Malti-Galiote roads, and a
portion of Bariote-Gabbar road as all come under the jurisdiction of PMGSY Division Reasi.
He said that poor road surface resulted in many accidents including the one on Friday at Kainthgali-Moungri road which resulted in serious injuries to many passengers. He showed dissatisfaction regarding the durability of blacktopping and maintenance of road surface and drainage by the concerned contractors in many projects in his area as well outside Panchari Moungri.
