PHE employees meet Dr Kotwal

UDHAMPUR, Nov 6: A deputation of Water Works (PHE) Employees Association, Udhampur, met the Commissioner/ Secretary PHE, I&FC Department, Dr Pawan Dev Kotwal here under the chairmanship of Som Nath, vice president of the association for Jammu province and discussed various genuine long pending demands and workers in detail.
Deputation brought to the notice of Dr Kotwal that daily wagers were without wagers for the past 18 to 20 months while imprest and estimate workers have not been paid wages since last two years. The Secretary assured for four months wages immediately.
Association also demanded benefit of SRO 64 regarding regularization of daily wagers; Change in designation as per nature of job being performed by them; Provision of new staff to be kept In new water supply schemes to lessen burden on already scarce staff; Holding of DPC meeting at an earliest which has not been convened for the past 15 years; Conversion of CP workers as daily wagers out of left out workers the case of whom was pending for the past three years; and Stoppage to direct recruitment till all the daily wagers waiting since 15 years were regularized.
Association also demanded job to the family member of aCP worker who dies while performing his duty.
Commissioner of the Department listened to the demands with patience and assured an early fulfillment of their grievances.
Others in the deputation included Vijay Kumar, Surajk Parkash, Jagdish Magotra, Dinesh Kesar and Sanjay Kumar.
